Prize draw terms

1. The promoter

The promoter is Plateline MOT Centre, Unit 7, Testbridge Road, Fareham, Hampshire PO16 (“we”, “us”). Contact: 01632 960482 or bookings@platelinemot.co.uk.

2. Who can enter

The draw is open to UK residents aged 18 or over who pay for a Class 4 MOT test at our test centre.

Our employees, their immediate families and anyone professionally connected with the draw can't enter.

3. How to enter

Every Class 4 MOT test paid for at our test centre in a calendar month (including as part of an MOT and service package) is automatically one entry into that month's draw. The MOT costs £39.99 whether or not you take part; the price is never increased to fund the prize.

Your entry number is shown on your booking confirmation and receipt. Entries are counted when the MOT is paid for, not when it's booked. Cancelled or refunded MOTs aren't entered.

If you'd rather not be entered, tell us at any time before the draw and we'll remove your entry.

4. Opening and closing dates

Each monthly draw opens at 00:00 on the first day of the month and closes at 17:00 UK time on the last working day (Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays) of that month.

MOTs paid for after the closing time are entered into the next month's draw.

5. The prize

One winner each month receives free Class 4 MOT tests on the vehicle that was tested in their winning entry (identified by its registration), for as long as the winner remains its registered keeper.

The prize covers one MOT test (and any free retest) per year, booked at our test centre in the usual way. It does not cover repairs, parts or servicing.

The prize is personal to the winner and the winning vehicle. It can't be transferred to another person or vehicle and there is no cash alternative. If we stop offering MOT tests, we'll offer the winner a cash payment equal to five years of MOTs at our then-current price.

6. How the winner is chosen

Within 2 working days of the closing date, one entry is picked at random by computer from all valid entries for that month, in the presence of a person independent of the promotion.

7. Telling the winner

We'll phone the winner using the number on their booking within 2 working days of the draw, and confirm by email or text.

If we can't reach the winner within 14 days after three attempts, we'll draw another entry for that month.

8. Publishing the result

With the winner's agreement, we'll show their first name, initial, town and a partly hidden registration on our website and social media. Anyone can ask for the winner's first name and county by contacting us within one month of the closing date.

9. Your data

We use your booking details only to run the draw and contact the winner, under our privacy notice. We don't share them with anyone else for this promotion.

10. General

We may cancel or change the draw if circumstances outside our reasonable control make that necessary, and will tell entrants if we do. Our decision on the draw is final in matters not covered by these terms.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
